Kris this is so funny and so true with happiness!

“And any time we don’t feel it, it’s because we’ve swatted it out of our own hand”.

Why do we swat? As you say, “We do this to escape the present”.

“It’s true that life will always involve messiness and imperfection and mishaps and setbacks and pain and hurt and suffering”.

And then you profoundly say, “But none of that is about our happiness”.

So we are swatting to make the imperfect perfect. And this has nothing to do with happiness?

So swatting gives us an imaginary sense of security to avoid the present.

I have been there and done that. It does not lead to great goals. This is pain.

I am curious about stories that ensue when we stop swatting.

Thanks for saying

Set a goal — something reasonable; something real — and work for it.
