Kris, I Liked #8. When you say What I am afraid of. These are profound thoughts of yours and they will happen. There’s nothing wrong with wanting more out of life. Everyone sees it as a problem and it’s not. It’s what we do with the feeling that matters.
“What I am afraid of: the “Francesca Johnson” effect — i.e., entering into the middle of my life and waking up one day to realize none of it makes me happy and I’m not sure how I got there but I feel too trapped to reroute my decisions. And not so much “waking up” that way as “not being focused enough on what I want to pursue it.””
I remember years ago reading a quote from Henry David Thoreau-
“The mass of men live lives of quiet desperation.” I fell hook line and sinker for it because I saw it all around me and still do. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
But you gotta go with what you are feeling. Don’t resist. If you stay with the feelings you see that you can begin to connect the dots going backwards. It all starts to make sense. Your curiosity for life begins to trump the fears.
You breakthrough into a whole new world that fascinates you. But you gotta be willing to be vulnerable. Be with the feelings that nothing makes you happy and you have no idea what will. This produces an emotional shitstorm.
This is what people fear going through. Yet when you do, the process produces an incredible high. You are energized. Your newly opened heart begins to find it’s own way.
IT’S A WAY BETTER PROCESS THAN A DRAWN OUT LIFE OF QUIET DESPERATION.
You build strength and resiliency you never believed you had. Your life feels full of creativity and freedom. You connect with others on a different level.
It’s really kind of a cool way to live.
Let the vulnerability warrior breakthrough in you!
