Jordan, great, great, great read! “Once we hear a person’s story, the person is no longer “that person” — but a human being”.
“But when you come to a bend in the road and you meet another soul, listen to learn”.
“And when we stop learning, we stop growing”.
It’s funny but sad. When I graduated from college and landed an investment banking job I thought I had it all. Then I earned a new impressive title in a very short period of time from my work ethic. I for sure thought I knew it all.
Not only did I not know it all, I had no idea what the world was really about.
LOVE. Not the romantic love we read and learn about. Real love that is an outgrowth of understanding your place in the world and the impact you have.
Like you say “Once we hear a person’s story, the person is no longer “that person” — but a human being”.
I believe to hear another’s story clearly we have to know our own. Many times we have limiting beliefs that hold us back from loving another human being.
Love is the real deal and ending up as you say, “being a dot at the end of line, lonely, and with nowhere else to go”, is the raw deal that many have. Even though they continue to think they know it all!
