I agree the self-improvement industry is overrated. But not the idea of looking for an answer to have more positive emotions compared to negative.
You can change or improve what you are doing to gain a certain result. But it is a nonstop circle of DOING to get what you need. Cause and effect.
Until you see the world in a new way, your life will remain much the same.
It’s like how they believed in blood-letting back in George Washington’s day. They believed it was the most effective way to save peoples lives.
Self-help is like that right now.
What is needed is a paradigm shift in your perspective of how life works.
Like the onset of penicillin to fight germs.
