How To Be Daring and Create Life On Your Own Terms
Invest in Yourself
Have you ever pondered an investment in yourself to hire a coach? I did.
It was my first time visiting Marco Island, Florida. We checked into our oceanfront room an hour earlier. As my husband left for a business meeting, the door shut softly behind him. I was left alone.
Would I dare to leap to hire a coach? To 100% commit to a path to deeply understand my values, motives and the impact I wanted to make in life?
Appreciation for the Newness to Life
I already felt a hint of anticipation. The pouring rain was hitting the balcony a few inches from where my feet rested on a small cocktail table. From the second floor I smiled hearing shrieks of excitement at the pool as kids chased each other and jumped in.
I sat there taking in the beauty as the energy of the storm moved across the water. A refreshing beer seemed a much easier choice than asking me to level up as a human being.
Meet the Struggle
The coaching assessment questionnaire reflected seventeen questions. That seemed high.
“Well”, I asked myself, “are you going to go all in and see what you can create or walk away and not put in the effort”?
The effects of the rainy day were more than skin deep.
Somewhere inside of you are answers stored that only you have access to unearth. To bring clarity to your heart and mind and build the legacy you want. Who was I? What did I really want?
Bring Awareness to Your Life Journey
I began slowly reviewing the questions out loud. Then typing in a more polished response. Where were the questions heading? Where was my life heading? What was my purpose in life? What type of legacy and relationships did I want to jump out of bed and say “hell yes”, this is how I want to live.
I brought my thoughts back to the thrill and laughter happening in the pool. Life had happened at blazing speed to get me to this successful point in life. I knew there was more.
Looking Inward as the True Source of Growth
Where is there a safe place to discover the more you want in life? Why not dare to hire a life coach? I pushed the button. I signed up for coaching. I felt the change.
I made a clear distinction in that moment that I wanted more. I would no longer see circumstances as steering my life. I was investing in how I wanted to create my life on my own terms and not simply default to the future in front of me.
